The phrase used when you must have the last word of a conversation -usually a debate- but you have been outwitted. You have no legitimate point to make, no quick axioms, no impressive wisdom but you insist on being right. This is my “Yeah but Still.”

Life’s Prayer
In this battle that goes on through life, I ask for a field that is fair. With a chance that is equal to all in the strife, and the courage to do and to dare. If I should win, let it be by the code, with my faith and my honor held high. If I should lose, let me stand by the road, and cheer as the winners go by.

Hmm. I’m not sure how I feel about this.
I love seeing the backstory to superheroes,
but I don’t feel like I’m drawn to these actors.
They don’t seem very compelling,
but the special effects still look cool.
Maybe I’ll change my mind after I see the movie.
They’re making an American version of “Being Human?!”
American producers, why must you take
every great British show, remake it and mutilate it?!!!
Listen up, we already speak English,
so you don’t have to remake a
new version for our feeble, American minds
and advertise it as “an original series.”
Not only are you frauds but you’re an insult
to all bipedal forms, discovered and undiscovered.
I am aware that many object to the severity of my language;
but is there not cause for severity?
I will be as harsh as truth,
and as uncompromising as justice.
On this subject, I do not wish to think, or to speak,
or write, with moderation.
No! No!
Tell a man whose house is on fire
to give a moderate alarm;
tell him to moderately rescue his wife
from the hands of the ravisher;
tell the mother to gradually extricate her babe
from the fire into which it has fallen;
– but urge me not to use moderation
in a cause like the present.
I am in earnest – I will not equivocate –
I will not excuse – I will not retreat a single inch –
AND I WILL BE HEARD.
Hey You, it’s Me.
Yeah, I’m great; mainly because I’m Me again…
especially since I like being Me.
I know You’d like Me to be more like You,
and I think I might have wanted to be more like You once,
but I’m not real crazy about the idea of being like You.
I’m not real sure You even like being You,
but You need to figure that out, not Me.
So I guess I’ll see You around from time to time.
Sincerely, Me
